Celebration day of the Cross , on the 3rd of May , “ Día de la Cruz”

It’s a colourful celebration and full of atmosphere corresponding with the arrival of the ( summer ) solstice.

The people of Almuñécar, los almuñéqueros , lavish imagination in the design , with prizes for children and adults in all cross competitions , putting the fruit of an apple with scissors which is very typical in these decorations so that nobody can say : “the cross is very nice” , but this has nothing to do with apples , there’s no detail missing.

Counters , typical dishes and “Tapas” to taste , are available there to enjoy a maximum of these celebrations where the people are dressed like “Flamencos” , no dance is missed nor the Andalusian singing .
